Aleksi Tsikhelishvili

Growing up in Georgia, Aleksi followed his mother's (and pretty much every other Georgian's) journey of making wines. 2009 was his first official harvest from vines that his family have tended since the Soviet period.  All fruit is estate grown from the 2.5 hectares that is solely hand-worked and organically farmed.  In most cases, the whites and reds are vinified the same way, all fruit is hand harvested and destemmed directly into qvevris that are set and buried into the earth, the lids are sealed with clay and, becomes the house to the wines from anywhere between 6-18 months.
