The Bonnet-Ponson label was created in 1956, when André Bonnet married Monique Ponson. André’s family had been growing grapes and making champagne in the Village of Chamery since 1862 and Monique also came from a family who grew grapes in the village of Vrigny.
Over the next few decades, son Thierry focused on a continued development effort across the domaine. With hectares of vines spread out across Vrigny, Verzenay and Chamery. Then in 2013, Cyril (son of Thierry) joined the family business after completing his study in oenology and honing his craft in the south of France, where he begun converting the vineyard to organics.
Whilst maintaining the traditional Champagne that the family has always made, Cyril has also made a Champagne and Coteaux Champenois without sulphur. The wines are all of purity and perfect representations of the region terroir. Hard to come by small batch Champagne at a price point that won't hurt.
