Chilled Reds

A trans-seasonal list of reds ready for the esky. We love chilled reds for being versatile, food-friendly, and perfect warm weather sippers for red wine drinkers. Light ‘n bright, they can be paired with a variety of meatier dishes where a white wine might be overshadowed. Some red varieties are more suited to the chill than others; look for pinot noir, gamay, trousseau, nebbiolo, pinot meunier. They share common personalities of being lighter in body, red-fruited, having 'bright' or high-toned acidity & lower tannin structure. The French coined a term for these styles; “vin de soif” or 'thirst wine'. Get thirsty!
