Claus began making wine with his father as a hobby but in 2000 graduated to running his own vineyard which is now 22ha.
Claus received biodynamic certification in 2009 and has a unique connection with his farm which is represented in his wines with true, clear representations of the land. Fruit quality is paramount for Claus and he employs only Steiner philosophies in his vine management while using strict biodynamic techniques. Alongside amazing producers such as Gut Oggau and Christian Tschida, he is leading a wave of young Austrian winemakers that are producing brave, pure and harmonious wines.
