Domaine Chapel was founded by husband and wife duo David Chapel and Michele Smith-Chapel in the cru village of Régnié in Beaujolais. They met while working at the acclaimed Morgon Estate, Domaine Lapierre. He the son of a 3 Michelin start chef and she a wine director based in Brooklyn NY. A match made in heaven when the moved from New York back to the Beaujolais to start an organically certified estate. With help from the winemakers and owners of the Morgan Estate where they met, David and Michele now produce strong Burgundy style wines from 3 hectares of vineyards.
