After 18 years as the lead wine estate manager of Domaine de la Pinte. Philippe Chatillon decided it was time to create his own, finding and buying a hillside plot of Savagnin in Passenans in 2013. He tends his steep marl-rich vineyard by hand without the use of any chemical fertilizer. His soil is enriched by biodynamic preparations, and in the cellar, he uses old oak, spontaneous fermentations, and bottles without filtration, fining, or sulphur.
Working in bio-harmony, using sound vibrations from his harp to aid in the wine's balance. Philippe Chatillon embodies a perfect intersection between nature and man's efforts. Resulting in wine that is pure and complex, derived from love and sweat.
