The wines produced by the late Stanislao (Stanko) Radikon and his son Saša have inspired a devoted following of winemakers, critics and consumers from all parts of the globe. One of the most influential and pioneering family for reviving the art of long skin contact wines.
Radikon, close to the Slovenia border in Italy, seeks to create natural and uncompromising wine, free of chemical pesticides, temperature-controlled fermentation using biodynamic viticulture and minimal sulphites. In 1995, Stanko began the long journey of returning to the style his grandfather followed, one of manual harvesting, extended maceration periods, the use of oak barrels with extended barrel ageing. Now in the courageous and delicate hands of Saša, these wines are very unique and hold a special place in many hearts around the world.
