Christine and Franz Strohmeier have been producing natural wine in the West Styrian wine region of Austria since 2003. 424 meters above sea level on the South-Eastern foothills of the Alp, Christine and Franz Strohmeier work with great determination to produce natural wines by hand without any additives or chemicals, and almost exclusively sulphur-free. Their vision is to continue working to cultivate their idyllic, small-scale environment with a variety of plants, animals, and small organisms together with delicious vegetables and fruits that grow in harmony with their grapes. Strohmeier believes that every creature signifies something and they search for messages that can further help their understanding of nature. The meaning of "love" in their symbiotic vineyard is summarized in their line TLZ (Trauben, Liebe & Zeit- Grapes, Love and Time. TLZ is all the ingredients a wine needs. A philosophical winemaker Franz states:“it does one good to patiently observe what happens in the peace and tranquillity of nature. And the best occurrences are those that take place without influence from outside sources”
