Canadian ex-pat now living in Flonheim, Germany, Alanna Lagamba is only 27 years old and after falling in love during vintage work with another German winemaker, who's knees we also fall at Martin Worner (Marto Wines) decided she would stay.
This is only her fourth vintage, but if you're not familiar with the Rheinhessen, think warm summers and mild winters. The soils are variable and distinct, changing every 100 meters or so, and range form limestone, sandstone, silt and clay through to volcanic rock. Alanna's wines are juicy, fun, playful and down right delicious.
