The vineyard is situated between Saint-Emilion and Bergerac. Champ des Treilles’s 10 hectares of vines are planted with all the traditional red and white grapes varieties. The winery is owned by Mr & Mrs Comme and both run the vineyard. Mr Comme was also a senior winemaker for Chateau Pontet-Canet, a Grand Cru classe in the Medoc. The Champ des Treilles is an organic winery (Ecocert since 2007) and biodynamic. They are producing some outstanding wines from close planted vines 10000/hectares and harvested by hand in small baskets. The average age of vines are 35 years old. The total production is about 35000 bottles/year. 60% Merlot,30% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot with No oak maturation. A rouge of ripe, with dark cherry fruit with a hint of spice, and dark chocolate. Fresh with a fantasticly integrated tannin. - Delage Wine Importer, Importer.
