Sourced from the same Frankland vineyard since 2017 — affectionately dubbed ‘Franklandia’ — this is a generous, textural blend of Riesling and Semillon from the heart of the Great Southern. The 25–45-year-old vines are organically farmed over granitic sandy gravel and ferricrete, with the fruit hand-picked, destemmed and left on skins for eight days of wild fermentation. From there, it’s pressed into a mix of stainless steel, concrete and old oak for natural settling and a short élevage before bottling.
Orange, lemon and grapefruit lead the charge, with barley sugar and iced tea adding a slightly more savoury, intriguing edge. Round and generous through the palate, with firm structure and mouth-coating tannins bringing plenty of grip and shape. A bright, skinsy wine with substance to match.
