This riesling takes its name from a local landmark, Peggy Hill, at the top of the range between the villages of Eden Valley and Keyneton. It is produced from a selection of longstanding Eden Valley riesling growers, whose vines range from 10 to 70 years of age, growing in low-vigour, ancient Cambrian soils at around 500m altitude. Fourth-generation winemaker Cyril Henschke began building a reputation for premium Eden Valley riesling from 1961. The region’s continental climate and sandy loam soils provide ideal conditions for producing riesling wines. Pale lemon with green hues. Delicate aromas of citrus blossom, lime zest and jasmine are layered with white peach, lemon sorbet and a hint of pear skin. A vibrant and pure palate reveals lemon, lime and white nectarine, supported by crisp acidity, fine mineral texture and a long, focused finish. - Henshke, Winery.
