From the second block of the certified organic Lansdowne Vineyard, set deeper in the valley at a higher altitude, where the nights run colder. Schist with quartz stones above clay. Two Gamay selections in equal parts, 222 and BGW19, hand-picked. Whole-bunch carbonic for ten days, then semi-carbonic for a further ten days with gentle plunge-downs once a day. Pressed to seasoned French oak and aged on fine lees for eleven months. Medium-bodied and crunchy, with a structured tannin profile on the mid-palate. Refreshing cassis and blueberry fruit with spices, floral tones and a fresh bush garrigue scent. Potential Aging- 6-10 years recommended. - JB, winemaker.
