Deep, dense ruby. Very reticent aromatically, with air revealing sweet dark cherry and cassis fruit, tobacco, nutmeg and just a hint of tomato leaf. Sturdy and firm, it is fleshy with dark cherry and berry fruit and densely packed with layers and layers of fine, mouth-filling tannins. A wine to contemplate while it opens in the glass.
