Philter Brewing - Caribbean Stout

This one is a full bodied tropical stout made using lager yeast. Silky chocolate and coffee flavours are topped off by rum and raisin notes for a smooth finish with a sweet back note. Don't be fooled by the style name, this is not a fruitier version of your typical stout. Tropical stouts use different grains and sugars than typical stouts and use lager yeast rather than pale ale yeast. It's characterised by a fuller-bodied, less bitter, more smooth roast character.
