Of course it is one of the world’s most popular and most planted grapes, Chardonnay appears in many different styles from lean, to sparklings, to creamy, rich, oxidative or even mineral driven ones. Natural wines tend to avoid the use of new oak which can impart what is seen as an 'un-natural' body or roundness/oak profile to the wine.
